Sabrina Granata, Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
“Therapy offers a space to slow down, understand yourself more deeply, explore patterns that are no longer serving you, and develop healthier ways of relating to yourself and others.”

Six areas of focus.

How I can help.

01

Anxiety & stress

Calm the overwhelm, build resilience.

Racing thoughts, constant tension, or a sense of dread that doesn't match what's actually happening — anxiety shows up differently for everyone. We work through overthinking, worry, overwhelm and emotional regulation, and build practical tools to calm your nervous system, not just manage symptoms in the moment. For professionals, that often means untangling work stress and burnout: the pressure to keep holding everything together while running on empty.

Often a good fit if: you feel overwhelmed often, struggle to switch off, or avoid things that matter to you because of worry.

02

Life transitions

Support through change.

A new job, separation/divorce, a move, a loss, becoming a parent — change can be disorienting. This work is about steadying yourself in the middle of it, making sense of what's shifting, and finding your footing on the other side.

Often a good fit if: you're navigating a major change and feel adrift, or find yourself stuck between who you were and who you're becoming.

03

Relationships & family

Understand your relationship patterns and build healthier, more secure connections.

We often repeat the same patterns in our relationships. Shaped by how we learned to attach and connect early on, they influence who we choose, how we communicate, and what happens when conflict arises. We look at those patterns together: the communication loops that keep ending in the same argument, the trust and emotional safety that make vulnerability possible, and the boundaries that protect a connection rather than strain it. The goal is a clearer understanding of how you relate, and relationships that feel more secure because of it.

Often a good fit if: the same conflicts keep resurfacing, you notice the same patterns repeating across your relationships, or you want to build connections that feel closer and more secure.

04

Self-esteem, boundaries and rediscovering yourself

Feel more confident in who you are, what you need, and the choices you make.

Low self-worth and self-doubt can quietly shape everything: the goals you don't pursue, the relationships you settle for, the needs you never voice. It's easy to lose yourself along the way, saying yes when you mean no and putting everyone else first. We work on quieting the inner critic, learning to say no without guilt, and rebuilding independence and self-trust, so your choices reflect who you actually are.

Often a good fit if: you struggle with self-doubt, find it hard to say no, or feel like you've lost touch with yourself and want to find your way back.

05

Children & teens

Age-appropriate support.

Kids and teens don't always have the words for what they're feeling, and it can show up as behaviour, withdrawal, or big emotions that seem to come from nowhere. I meet young clients where they are, at a pace and in a language that fits their age.

Often a good fit if: your child or teen is struggling with big emotions, school stress, or changes at home, and you're not sure how to help.

06

Sports psychology

For athletes and teams working on the mental side of performance.

As a former national-level figure skater, I know firsthand what it takes to perform under pressure. I work with athletes and teams on motivation, focus, and confidence — managing performance anxiety, bouncing back from setbacks, and building the mindset that lets training show up when it counts.

A good fit if you're an athlete, a coach, or the parent of a young athlete looking for support with the mental demands of competitive sport.

About

Balance, confidence, and a sense of control aren't traits you're born with — they're skills anyone can build.

I've spent the last fifteen years working with children, teens, families, and adults who are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or stuck in patterns that no longer serve them — first in schools and community settings, and now in private practice.

We start with a compassionate conversation to understand what's really going on for you. From there, I help you identify the thoughts, emotions, and habits that keep you feeling stuck, and we work together to build tools and strategies that support lasting change. What hasn't changed in fifteen years is my belief that people already carry most of what they need to move forward; therapy is about clearing enough space to find it.

My approach is integrated and evidence-based — grounded in cognitive behavioural therapy, but drawing from solution-focused, attachment-based, and strength-based work, because no two people need exactly the same thing. I bring genuine care to every client's unique story, and I work in both English and French, so language is never a reason someone goes without the support they need.

FAQ

Questions before we begin.

You don't need a crisis to reach out — just a sense that you're carrying more than you should have to alone.

Is therapy right for me?

If something feels harder than it should, or you keep circling the same problem without relief, therapy can help — you don't need a crisis to justify starting.

What happens in a first session?

We start with what brought you in, a bit of your history, and what you're hoping will be different. There's no pressure to have it all figured out — that's part of the work.

How do payment and insurance work?

It's simple: after each session, you'll receive an invoice by email, payable online by credit or debit card in just a couple of minutes. Sessions are covered by most major health and employer benefit plans, including Canada Life, Sun Life, Manulife, Green Shield, and Blue Cross — and you'll always get a receipt to make claiming easy.

Can sessions switch between English and French?

Yes — some clients move between both languages within the same conversation, and that's completely welcome.

Is what I share confidential?

Yes. What's discussed in session stays private, with the standard legal exceptions around risk of serious harm, which I'll explain clearly before we begin.

Do you see clients online, in person, or both?

Both. In-person sessions are at my Embrun office; virtual sessions are available for clients anywhere in Ontario.

What's your cancellation policy?

I ask for at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations or rescheduling; this will be covered clearly when we book your first session.
